My Source Grants
In collaboration with CPB, NCO awarded grants to 62 television and radio stations to support use of My Source tools for telling their stories. The funds will help recipients gather impact stories from their communities through online story collection or find local "ambassadors" to share their personal stories in support of the station. Story of the Month: Kids with Asthma Can!
"Dear Buster, I saw the play today. I learned that a lot of people have asthma. Thanks for showing me I'm not the only one in the world."
Karla, a grade-school youth, wrote these words after seeing Buster Has Asthma, a play developed for the WGBH-led Boston Asthma Management Campaign. Created in partnership with Children's Hospital Boston and other area community organizations, the city-wide campaign educated families about common asthma triggers and effective management of childhood asthma. Parents reported that activities like the play normalized asthma for their children and helped them feel better about having it.
